The FFB 401AC takes everything that makes the FFB 401 a proven station and duty boot and adds one more layer of protection: a reinforced toe cap built to stand up to the kind of wear that shortens the life of a normal boot. It's an NFPA 1974 certified, CAL/OSHA compliant 8″ firefighter boot finished in full-grain matte leather, with an oblique-shaped steel toe underneath that reinforcement for all-day comfort without sacrificing protection — certified to ASTM F2413-05 standards for impact (I/75) and compression (C/75) protection.
A full wraparound Goodyear welt and molded thermoplastic heel counter deliver support that holds its shape call after call, year after year, while a triple ridge shank with an integrated puncture-resistant plate stands between your foot and whatever's on the ground. A removable insole means you can swap in your own personal footbed whenever you need to, and the Vibram® Olympia outsole, built with a fire-retardant NFPA compound, keeps your footing secure on wet, oily, or unpredictable surfaces.
